John Laughlin
CTO – NGen

John is the CTO at NGen, a not-for-profit organization which funds Advanced Manufacturing R&D projects to drive innovation and create jobs in manufacturing across Canada, backed by $230m of Federal funding. John joined NGen from the UK where he was responsible for setting the strategies and running some of the UK government’s highest profile R&D programs worth more than $8.5 billion across the automotive, aerospace and intelligent mobility sectors. John spent a number of years at Visteon where he was responsible for program delivery of all powertrain products in Europe to Toyota, Honda and Suzuki customers. In 2007, John took on a role at London Underground where his brief was to deliver part of the 2012 London Olympic Games Transport Strategy. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
